How Does a Grow Kit Work?

Each grow kit contains a fully colonized substrate (the cultivation box with mycelium), packed in a cultivation bag with a microfilter. There’s no need to add spores — everything is ready to go.

Follow these general steps for growing magic mushrooms:

1. Clean your hands and workspace – A hygienic environment helps prevent contamination.
   
   
2. Soak the grow kit in water – This process, called ‘cold shock’, is recommended for Cubensis kits. Soak the kit in clean, cold water for about 12 hours.
   
   
3. Place the kit in the included grow bag – Set the kit on two paperclips or an inverted bag to allow for air circulation.
   
   
4. Mist the inside of the bag if needed – This keeps humidity levels high. Avoid spraying directly on the substrate.
   
   
5. Maintain proper conditions – Keep the temperature between 22–26°C (71–79°F) with enough indirect daylight or soft artificial light.
   
   
6. Harvesting – After about 1 to 2 weeks, mushrooms will begin to appear. Harvest them as soon as the caps open, but before the veil underneath the cap breaks.
